Skinimalism

Does social life influence beauty trends? Definitely! The most recent example is skinimalism. For a long time, many layers of make-up fooled us into believing we had “perfect skin”, but now more and more of us are saying goodbye to this unrealistic ideal of beauty.

The new trend promises more self-love. This is achieved by using natural makeup, reduced to a minimum or even no makeup at all. Instead of covering it up, the real texture of the skin can shine through - including pores and redness. The new self-confidence is not least due to the consequences of the pandemic. For one thing, there have been no social events for a long time for which we would have needed complete evening makeup.

On the other hand, frequent mask wearing has an effect:

Rubbing edges of masks and less air on the skin promote maskne, a form of acne mechanica in which the skin reacts to mechanical stimuli with irritation. Excessive make-up makes existing complaints such as blemishes, redness and dryness even worse. Skinimalism provides a welcome respite: only products that promote cell renewal, strengthen the skin barrier, provide intensive moisture and protect against free radicals are used. Products containing antibacterial silver have proven effective for skin blemishes under the mask.

In any case, the motto is: quality over quantity.
