The skin

The skin (lat. cutis, gr. derma) is our largest and heaviest organ (approx. 15% of body weight) at around 1.5-2m². It defines the outer boundaries of our body, protects, facilitates communication and has important functions in the areas of immunology and metabolism.
Skin type is partly genetically determined, but is also influenced by environmental influences and eating habits. Adequate and correct body care is very important. For this reason, we have avoided as many ingredients as possible that can trigger allergic skin reactions and want to help prevent contact allergies, fragrance allergies, dye allergies, silicone allergies, etc.
Organic cosmetics allow your skin to take care of itself again. mysalifree certified organic cosmetics ensure the highest level of compatibility and quality. All ingredients are approved for certified natural cosmetics. At least 95% of the agricultural ingredients come from controlled organic cultivation. We want to help you achieve the best possible feeling of well-being despite sensitive skin.
Salicylates are the salts of salicylic acid and are found in essential oils and in the leaves, flowers and roots of many different plants. In the form of extracts, oils, gels and essences, salicylic acid is also often an ingredient in cosmetics. It is usually used as a preservative. Salicylic acid and its salts have allergenic potential - therefore their use in cosmetics is only permitted up to a maximum concentration of 0.5% (acid). It should not be used for children under 3 years of age.
A general overview of the different skin types and characteristics:
Normal skin
Normal skin is the optimal condition and is unfortunately very rare. This skin has no special requirements, the sebaceous and sweat glands work in a balanced way, the skin has enough moisture and fat. It has good blood circulation, a matt shine and fine pores.
Dry skin
Dry skin produces too little sebum and retains less moisture. It is thin and has fine pores, is often brittle, tends to redden and lacks shine.
oily skin
Oily skin produces too much sebum and fat. The skin is shiny, has large pores and appears thicker. Advantages: it is insensitive and well protected against environmental influences, it also ages more slowly and forms fewer wrinkles.
combination skin
Combination skin is characterized by the "T" zone (between forehead and nose-mouth). In the T zone the skin is oilier, outside it is drier.
Sensitive/Delicate Skin
Sensitive skin is not tied to age or skin type. It is the result of various factors. Incorrect care and spicy food can irritate it, it reacts to stress, high or low temperatures with irritation and redness. Everything that could irritate sensitive skin should therefore be avoided if possible. The aim of caring for sensitive skin is to strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier. A major problem with sensitive skin is that many cosmetic ingredients are not tolerated, such as fragrances, mineral oils, salicylates or essential oils.
Sensitive, reddish skin (couperose)
Sensitive, reddish skin (couperose) is characterized by dilated and clearly visible veins in the facial skin. It reacts to environmental influences with redness, swelling, itching or burning. This skin type must be well protected, especially in cold weather and sunlight. Sensitivity to allergens and cosmetics is not uncommon.
Mature skin
Mature skin is characterized by reduced skin nutrition. Skin aging begins at around 25 years of age, the number of collagen fibers in the connective tissue of the subcutaneous tissue decreases, and moisture levels continually decrease. The skin appears dry, withered, and wrinkles form. This can be counteracted by increasing the supply of nutrients and moisture using suitable creams.
