Isn't that exaggerated? Why we should think about UV protection in every season
There's no question about it: we all love sunny days - especially the rare ones in the cold season - because after all, the sun's rays contribute significantly to our well-being. Nevertheless, we should think about UV protection in every season to prevent not only skin cancer and its precursors, but also premature skin aging.
fall/winter
The colder and darker it gets, the more the body reduces the skin's own sebum and melanin production, which provide important protection for the skin. UV radiation now has an easy time - especially if we are going to the mountains or planning a long-distance trip to the south.
Spring
On the one hand, the ozone layer is still very thin in spring, and on the other hand, after the long winter months, the skin has very little pigmentation and therefore hardly any natural sun protection. Two reasons why we should think about appropriate sun care as early as the beginning of March.
Summer
Whether on the beach, in the mountains, in the city or at home on the balcony: UV radiation is particularly high in the summer months. Therefore, we should protect ourselves sufficiently, especially at midday, i.e. between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. This also applies to overcast days, because the sun's rays still make their way through the clouds.
